NVIDIA GF100 outperforms Radeon HD5870 with more than 30% in Far Cry 2!

Under: News 1 comments

Today is a great day for all those waiting GF100 show offs as some of the first benchmarks leaked in vimeo and were later removed from there, but not before people managed to upload them in youtube and the like. There is only one real benchmark – Far Cry 2, made at the highest possible settings with AA and AI on, and the GF100 averaged over 80 FPS at 1920×1200 resolution. Compared to what we could take for average HD5870 results in the same benchmark (deducted from reading many HD5870 reviews from around the globe), the Radeon does like 60 to 64 FPs with same setting, which makes just over 30% better result for the GF100.

It is still impossible to tell the final specifications of the GF100, but here is a translation from a Chinese website (PCOnline) which claims to know more. And it is more, you know?

A new era coming yet?

Update 16.01.2010: There is a rumor that the results might be that of a couple of GTX285s compared to a single GTX285. Or at least Guru3D claimed it is GTX285 all the way…

Yet another update! The result is not from pair of GTX285s – as you can see here (just switch to 1920×1200) they do much more “min FPS” as opposed to the card in the youtube video. Just as it is supposed to be, as SLI/CF enable much higher minimal FPS elliminating those low FPS spikes you can usually see in single chip video cards.
