After watching some advertisement of Lenovo’s ThinkPad W700ds, we just couldn’t resist the urge to mock them a bit. You know, W700ds is really (and we mean it) the nerd’s dream – anyone who wants powerfull laptop that doesn’t come from space (read: Alienware) but is more suited for work, rugged and all that, has to know that ThinkPad W700ds has it all. It’s a kind of beast performance-wise, but what’s hot in it is that it has all the things and gadgets and stuff that makes you feel proud of it…
..not like the HP EliteBook 8730w, which only has one Dreamcolour screen that no other laptop screen can match, for example. C’mon, Lenovo – you have to be better thatn that! We really dreamed the W700, and now the W700ds has even more features, but why the TN screen? No matter how would you calibrate this one, it’s still going to close to any cheap FullHD panel ever used in notebook and nothing like the famous FlexView screens you had in the past. And why that NVIDIA Quadro FX3700 in W700ds configuration screen adds $700, when HP sell it for just 400 (above the default Quadro FX2700 graphics card which the particular HP EliteBook 8730w had)?

We really don’t know if this is Lenovo-sponsored advertisement made for some viral marketing campaign (makes sense, as it works) or a fan made vide, but it actually shows the W700ad in rather bad perspective as some nerd dream. Wake up, it was supposed to be the pest laptop for graphic designers and such, and it turned to be the best e-peen around?
10/10 for the idea to make fun of Lenovo ThinkPad W700ds.
It should say “best professional notebook ever” on its label, not ” the kisser kicker of asses”…
