Some time ago we wrote about Acer’s new addition to the 120 Hz monitors for gaming and 3D Vision – the GD245HD – a 24-inch 3D Vision Ready display with Full HD resolution. Acer soon followed with news about another 120 Hz TFT monitor – the GD235HZ, which would be a cheaper version with WSXGA+ resolution with a bit bigger screen than the popular Samsung and Viewsonic monitors with their 22-inch wide screens. UPDATE – we just received information that it would be the same product as GD245HD with 23.5″ panel and FullHD resolution! …read on

Posted on 9th December 2009Acer 3D-Vision ready 24-incher GD245HQ coming in January
Posted on 2nd December 2009The 120 Hz mark sound promising not only for those that want 3DVision system, but also for the hardcore gamers who want more frames per second displayed on their screen. Having said that, we expect that the next wave of gaming monitors will be all “3DVision Ready” as part of their marketing value, but what’s better – they will all have virtually lag-free and capable of displaying 120 frames per second. Adobe and NVIDIA made it… or not?
Posted on 17th November 2009Flash 10.1 is finally knocking on our door and we have great expectations for this new version. A bit of beta testing we did revealed that either Adobe didn’t do that much, or they’ve just spent too many words on a huge PR campaign without obvious impact on the end user. Adobe Flash 10.1 is developed in tight collaboration of NVIDIA (means NVIDIA got their fingers everywhere, nice for them) and promises DXVA hardware acceleration of HD flash video content which is now huge problem for mobile devices and netbooks. Well, it actually promises DXVA on NVIDIA cards in one of the NVIDIA reviewer’s guides, but it also mentions Intel GMA 4500M, and not a word about ATI/AMD (which is expected). …read on

This guy below has shown at EVGA’s Halloween VGA launch party and he probably became more popular than the EVGA’s videocard itself. Come on, he is as silly as it can get. The bad side of this is that he is not the only one… …read on
Acer is on it again releasing 24-inch 120Hz FullHD Gaming Monitors soon?
Posted on 31st October 2009This is how the new 23,6″ gaming monitor from Acer might just look, as we’ve heard that the company is preparing to release it’s first 120Hz displays for gaming and S3D experience. The new Full HD monitors will be 3D Vision compatible for playing in stereo 3D, bot so far they aren’t officially released. What”s more interesting is the fact that Acer is may be the first company offering a 24-inch and Full HD monitor on the market that can work at 120Hz framerate, considering that so far only Samsung and ViewSonic are selling such new generation displays. And what Samsung and ViewSonic have so far are 22-inch monitors that are not 16:9 and Full HD, but offer a 16:10 aspect ratio and 1680×1050 pixels screen resolution more common amongst 22 inches today. …read on
