Another couple of fake NVIDIA GTX380/360 benchmark results and images of GF100

Under: Blog 1 comments

A member of Tom’s Hardware forum started a thread that shows off a couple of benchmark results from GTX380 and GTX 360 graphic cards by NVIDIA. Off course – the thread soon turned to a mass laughter at the poor Photoshopper, but he continued to insist the results are true and were about to be published in a future tomshardware.com article (he even gave a link, leading nowhere). Usually we wouldn’t use those results at all, if we didn’t know how often there is NDA going on the results and articles and how sometimes you just hit that “publish” button instead of “save draft” (that is in WordPress, but you can imagine they don’t write HTML at TH and use some user-friendly backend), so there could be some mistake, followed by quick cleanup. Anyway we just decided to keep those charts here as they won’t get deleted if the forum thread goes underground.

So here they are, just DO NOT BELIEVE THEM, THEY ARE PROBABLY FAKE!

You can’t miss the fact that according to the charts, the Fermi-based NVIDIA cards are hard ass kickers, and just imagine if it turns to be true… Nice, huh? Here are the specs too, again from the very same forum troll that “unveiled” the true behind those new cards:

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 380
CUDA cores 512
core clock 730MHz
shader clock 1600MHz
Memory 1100MHz 2GB
TDP(watts) 225w

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 360
CUDA cores 480 (strange number, why not 484?)
core clock 650MHz
shader clock 1400MHz
Memory 1000MHz 1.8GB
TDP(watts) 195w

Now wake up, there are no confirmed benchmark results or, in that manner, any othe information about the Fermi-based gaming cards, except a picture of Tom Petersen with his DUAL GF100 rig published in Twitter.

Tome Petersen from NVIDIA poses with his new Dual GF100 rig. Nice, now how about something real?

Here is another image with GF100 (according to overclockers.ru), this time with speculation about 1.5 gigabytes of memory and a 384-bit memory bus (click on the image for full-sized view):

Good luck waiting for more from NVIDIA now! We just wanted to say that waiting sucks. Big time. And it’s not time for thumbs up from NVIDIA but for a new product…

UPDATE 12 December 2009: Oh, they now get the “busted” crown too (Image is self explanatory lesson how to use copy-paste like n00b):

  1. This is such a great resource that you are providing and you give it away for free. I love seeing websites that understand the value of providing a quality resource for free. It?s the old what goes around comes around routine. Did you acquired lots of links and I see lots of trackbacks??
