Acer is on it again releasing 24-inch 120Hz FullHD Gaming Monitors soon?

Under: News 6 comments

This is how the new 23,6″ gaming monitor from Acer might just look, as we’ve heard that the company is preparing to release it’s first 120Hz displays for gaming and S3D experience. The new Full HD monitors will be 3D Vision compatible for playing in stereo 3D, bot so far they aren’t officially released. What”s more interesting is the fact that Acer is may be the first company offering a 24-inch and Full HD monitor on the market that can work at 120Hz framerate, considering that so far only Samsung and ViewSonic are selling such new generation displays. And what Samsung and ViewSonic have so far are 22-inch monitors that are not 16:9 and Full HD, but offer a 16:10 aspect ratio and 1680×1050 pixels screen resolution more common amongst 22 inches today. …read on

Acer Aspire 5942 and 8942 – first notebooks with ATI Mobility Radeon HD5650

Under: News 5 comments

We are going to speculate a bit here, but in a recent notebook dealer event Acer announced two new gaming models are coming before the end of the year and we decided to share that information. Both Acer Aspire 5942G and Aspire 8942G will be based on Core i7 720QM processor (we bet Intel will have a hard time explaining the low 1.6 GHz speed to users) and ATI Mobility Radeon HD5650 graphics. THe new models will probably derive from their current 5940G and 8940G lines which are based on Core i7 platform, so we don’t expect huge changes in their looks or technical specifications. …read on

Back in the days Windows XP came out, there were thousands of people crying that it’s too heavy, unresponsive and unintuitive to work with. We remember most of them stuck to the original start menu, disabled themes and did countless optimizations to keep the most modern Windows for the time being from eating their memory. As years passed, XP became more stable than ever, but little has changed in terms of interface and the way things work. Then Microsoft came up with Vista, and we all expected to see something innovative. And guess what – we got it, but Microsoft forgot about those people who value system load above all and Vista was hated for its memory usage and compatibility issues that infested the 64bit version. Now that we have Windows 7, the constant need of RAM upgrades is over… or not? …read on

AMD asks.We answer.

Under: Blog 1 comments

Truth to be told AMD just shocked us in their blog. Now if you never read there – you are probably safe from the negative influence, but if you do, you could easily fall into doubt that those technical-marketing guys there don’t tell jokes… or at least not in the manner that will make you laugh. Read on to see how we decided to answer most of AMD questions (hey, everything has an end, we couldn’t possibly answer every answer they would throw, as they seem clueless about many things). …read on

Intel CULV platform is just a money machine

Under: Blog 5 comments

We live our lives under too much influence by corporate marketing teams. It’s a fact, not something you would disagree. We buy what some PR guru made us, we eat more and more food that has better package than content, we drive cars that never seem to be good enough to not to break, we even believe a multi-billion company as Intel would make something out of pure heart and good intentions. Do we, really? When Intel came out with their new amazing CULV platform everyone kneeled and praised them for the idea, but very few people asked the exact question of “Is it enough for everyday use? We did, and the answer is no. …read on
